Château St. Martin de la Garrigue 'Les Bronzinelle' 2012, Côteaux du Languedoc, Montagnac, France
A wine full of intense flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry with hints of spice and the garrigue (decanting beforehand helps to bring all of this out). Would go fantastically well with lamb in any guise and grilled meats.
Each grape variety used in this wine is vinified separately. Syrah and Carignan by whole berry fermentation, bunches intact, and Mourvèdre and Grenache destemmed.
They are then blended straight after the end of fermentation and given 12 to 15 months in barrels with no fining or filtering taking place, only racking several times.
